Toluene Recovery System.

Introduction to the Recovery Principle:

The recovery system consists of two processes: adsorption and desorption. The adsorption process utilizes an adsorbent to concentrate the solvent in the exhaust gas, increasing the solvent concentration from a few hundred parts per million (ppm) to several thousand ppm, up to hundreds of thousands of ppm, or even close to a liquid state solvent, thereby reducing recovery costs. The desorption process uses an appropriate fluid (steam or other fluids) to introduce heat into the adsorbent, which then drives the solvent away from the adsorbent (resulting in high-concentration solvent discharge, which can reach several hundred thousand ppm). The solvent is then condensed in the condenser for recovery.

Adsorbent: Based on the customer's site conditions and actual requirements, our company uses high-efficiency granular activated carbon and activated carbon fiber as the adsorbents for the recovery system.

Desorption Fluid: The choice of desorption fluid depends on the solvent's properties. For oily solvents, steam is used as the desorption fluid, while for water-soluble solvents, other fluids are used. Vacuum equipment can also be utilized to further reduce operational costs.

(1) Applicable Industries:
This system is suitable for industries that require the addition of solvents to facilitate production processes, such as adhesive product factories, textile dyeing and finishing (coating) factories, printing factories, electronics factories, resin factories, chemical factories, and other related industries.

(2) Features of the System:

a. High Waste Reduction Efficiency:
The system achieves a waste reduction efficiency of over 98%, fully complying with environmental protection requirements.

b. Short Recovery Period:
Once the system reaches its designed operational capacity, the recovery period typically does not exceed 3 months.

c. Low Operating Costs:
The high desorption temperature effectively saves steam usage, thereby reducing operational costs.

d. Simple Operation:
The system operates through process control, with all parameters pre-set in the PLC program to prevent human error. Additionally, the system status is displayed via a touch panel, where the operator can easily monitor the current conditions. The touch panel provides visual representations of system status, ensuring the system is easy to operate and understand. Any abnormal conditions are clearly described in text form, making it easy to identify issues and resolve them promptly.

System Composition:
The toluene recovery system consists of the following components:

  • Filter BoxVOC CoolerActivated Carbon TankHeat ExchangerOil-Water Separator

This system was successfully implemented for a tape factory in Guangdong Province, China.
